Junior Cycle
JC Subjects

Core Subjects:
Gaeilge (Irish), English, Maths, Religion, History, Geography, Science, CSPE, PE, SPHE.
Optional Subjects:
Students choose three subjects to study for the Junior Cert. from the following: Art, Business Studies, French, German, Home Economics, Music, Materials Technology Wood, Technical Graphics, Technology.
First year Options
From September to Halloween, each first year student has a ‘Taster’ period of the following subjects:
Art, Business Studies, French, German, Home Economics, Music, Materials Technology Wood, Technical Graphics, Technology.
During this time they will also study the normal range of core subjects.
At the end of the Taster Period he/she will choose three of the above optional subjects for the Junior Certificate Examinations. When the student has his/her subject choices confirmed, before the Halloween break, he/she will be allocated their weekly class periods for these subjects.
